Established in 1954, Nam Sawang is Thailand’s foremost authority in luxury watch retail . As an Official Rolex Retailer, Nam Sawang has over six decades of experience and is recognised today among Thailand’s watch aficionados as one of the country’s most esteemed and reputable voice in the luxury watch scene. PIONEERING PARTNERSHIP
A business visionary and bedrock of Nam Sawang’s success, Mr. Chien Kijsriopas embarked on a partnership with Rolex in 1978 that continues to flourish to this day.
A true pioneer of the industry, Mr. Chien Kijsriopas started working in Bangkok's Ban Mo area when he was just 14. In 1954, he opened his first retail shop selling eyeglasses, watches and pens, calling it Nam Sawang, after his family name 'Nam' in Chinese. In 1964, the company was renamed Nam Sawang Kan Wan, which then eventually became Nam Sawang Watch Company Limited.
Established on the tenets of offering the highest quality timepieces and incomparable customer service, Nam Sawang opened its first Rolex boutique at 55 Bamrungmuang Road. The boutique was an immediate success, meeting the huge demand from locals who sought the quality and reliability of Rolex timepieces.
IMMACULATE EVOLUTION
The huge success and continued growth of Nam Sawang’s first Rolex presence in Thailand led to the opening of a second larger standalone boutique in 1993, situated at Pinklao, a newly developed district in Bangkok back in the day. Inspired by his visits to the Rolex manufacture in Geneva, Mr. Chien Kijsriopas envisioned Rolex at Nam Sawang Pinklao to be a place where customers feel like they are transported to the brand’s Swiss headquarters. The elevated boutique interior and furnishing set the standard and marked an evolution in luxury watch retail in Thailand. Embracing a modern retail philosophy where ambience, service and knowledge amalgamate to elevate the Rolex experience, Rolex at Nam Sawang Pinklao set a benchmark for luxury watch scene in Thailand.
WINDS OF CHANGE
In 2018, Nam Sawang relocated its Bamrungmuang store to a prestigious new address. One of Bangkok's most luxurious department store, the CentralPlaza Grand RAMA 9 is situated in the city’s new central business district.
